Information You Submit
Entries made in a name, phone, or address search are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Contra Costa Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those queries on its own servers. A message sent to the contact address is used only to read and answer what you chose to include.
Automatic Technical Data
Our host may record routine server-log details such as an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and time stamps. We use aggregate patterns to maintain the service and understand page use. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also rely on cookies or similar tools when those features are enabled.
How Information Is Used
Technical information helps operate the pages, repair faults, measure traffic, and improve the reference. Visitor lists are not sold, and the service does not create individual user profiles.
External Destinations
Pages link to California and Contra Costa records portals, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. Information submitted after following one of those links is governed by the destination's privacy policy. The same applies to sponsored results supplied by another company.
Who Receives It
Hosting and technical-support providers may process the server logs described above. Analytics or advertising partners may receive automatic data when their tools are active. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it, or as otherwise permitted by law.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described above. Because there are no user accounts, this service does not hold a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
These pages are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from someone under 18. If a minor may have sent information to the contact address, let us know so it can be removed.
Your California Privacy Rights
The California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code ยงยง1798.100 et seq., gives qualifying California consumers rights to know, correct, delete, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and opt out of sale or sharing by covered businesses, subject to its exceptions. Because this service keeps very little, a request generally means checking the contact mailbox and available server logs, then removing information we control. Use the Contact page to ask. Government records held by California, Contra Costa County, or a city are outside this service's control, and a request about those records belongs with the source custodian.
